Guardians of the Galaxy–Marvel’s latest creation takes five reluctant heroes, each with moon-sized chips on their shoulders, on a wild ride to rescue, well, everyone.
I loved this movie. There’s plenty of aliens to crush over and you can choose your favorite skin tone too. Obviously, Nebula, the villainous blue assassin with jet black eyes, and green skinned Gamora are front and center.
I pulled together these makeup tutorials on how to get the look with a bit of body paint and special effects contact lenses. The character of Groot (apparently a Flora Colossus from Planet X), takes a bit more commitment. Hats off to these makeup artists for pulling these looks off!
I found this fantastic video tutorial on how to do Nebula’s makeup from Guardians of the Galaxy. Check out Shapeshiftermua. What amazes is me is that she can pull this off by herself. You have to start with a bald cap and then block out the different regions in the face that get a slightly different color of blue. Cap off with black contact lenses, either Blackout or the full-eye Black Sclera lenses.
This video is from RoxyRosa, face paint and body artist. Again Blackout lenses would be my choice.
This one is amazing! Again from Shapeshiftermua. She used latex to attach tissue to her face. Has to be seen to be believed. So well done!
